The Metal Boxed Residence transforms a traditional home through modular design, compartmentalization, and a refreshed facade. Drawing inspiration from industrial metal containers, the renovation adds stacked, metal-clad volumes at the rear to increase living space and enhance the home’s identity.
A cantilevered bridge connects old and new areas, serving as a central gathering point for the family. The interplay of solid metal panels and large glass openings provides both privacy and openness, while vertical fins help shade the master bedroom from the tropical sun.
The bold, geometric form contrasts with the surrounding rowhouses, emphasized by recessed lighting. Inside, the layout ensures fluid movement between old and new zones, creating a cohesive blend of past and present architecture.
